Spend Time with Your Best

Excerpt from Developing the Leaders Within You – John C. Maxwell

By: Reynetta DeVeau, PP, PLS, TSC

This as an outstanding excerpt from John C. Maxell that I read in my daily leadership devotional:

Years ago I learned the Pareto Principle and began applying it to my life.  It’s a useful tool for determining priorities for any person’s life or for any organization.

The Pareto Principle

Twenty percent of your priorities will give you 80 percent of your production IF you spend your time, energy, money, and personnel on the top 20 percent of your priorities.

Every leader need to understand the Pareto Principle n the area of people oversight and leadership.  For example, 20 percent of the people in an organization will be responsible for 80 percent of the association’s success.  The following strategy will enable a leader to increase the productivity of any organization.

Determine which people are the top 20 percent producers.

Spend 80 percent of your “people time” with the top 20 percent.

Spend 80 percent of your personal development dollars on the top 20 percent.

Ask the top 20 percent to do on-the-job training for the next 20 percent.

ANNUAL MEETING LEADERSHIP Workshop:  Please join us in our fantastic Leadership Workshop we will have in Houston.  Please see the registration form for more detailed information!!
